My account was shut down. Just like that…
Apparently the reason was “breaking their terms…” 🤦
I’ve been running codex and their API for every agent I’ve got.
The part that actually hurt? It happened days before their 5.6 launch - the one model I was looking forward to testing after all the fable buzz.
So yeah, ~$2k and I got locked out.
I wasn’t that pissed, honestly - but it reminded me of the old affiliate days. Meta nukes your ad account overnight, erases your whole profile with it, or just rejects your top-performing ad with no explanation. You wake up and the thing building your business isn’t there anymore.
So why am I telling you this?
Bcuz it taught me something I need you to actually understand before you wire your whole business onto these AI tools:
if you RENT your AI, you can be switched off at any moment
It doesn’t matter how much you’ve spent. Doesn’t matter how clean your usage is. One automated trigger and poof, it’s gone…
And AI only gets better from here - which means we’re all about to get MORE dependent, not less. Pay just to keep the lights on dependent.
Aand it’s not a tool anymore. That’s a landlord, and you’re renting.
Most of you (the AI power users) already feel it too, don’t you?
